Passport and Visa Information:

 

Your passports must be valid for at least 6 months for a visa to be issues.

The Indian visa system has been outsourced in most countries this reduces the time spent in queues but means you need to allow at least one week.  the visa becomes valid on issue. Visa application system UK:

What to bring:

It is advisable to keep your luggage to a minimum less to worry about and more space for shopping.

Travel documents: passport, visa, travel insurance, air tickets, 3 photocopy of above documents leave one copy at home with next of kin, keep one with luggage and third for tour operator.

Four changes of clothing - please remember that India is a conservative country so clothing which covers knees and shoulders is advisable. (laundry possible at most hotels)

Umbrella/Parasol (useful year round for either rain or sun)

Raincoat/ (Seasonal July-Sept)

 

NB: During the cold months of December and January: VERY warm clothes and sleeping bag are recommended.

Airport development tax

Delhi International departures 1300 INR per passenger.

Mumbai Domestic departure: 100 INR per person

Mumbai International departure: 600 INR per person

 

Will be levied on departure Air travel from 10 March 2009 onwards. This maybe include in the total ticket price, but please check with your travel agent as you may have to pay it in cash at Check-In at the Delhi Airport.
