This is how to stay healthy while travelling in India. It must be remembered that this is a guide and alternative professional advise should also be sort.
Before you travel Several injections are recommended as a precaution for travel in India as soon as you confirm your plans to travel to India consult your doctors practice on the suitable precautions. These change often and even if you have travelled to India or Asia previously it is highly recommended that you visit your doctors practice for up to date information.
Malaria Malaria is present in India and your doctors advise must be sort. It is important to note however that malaria tablets are not 100% effective and additional measures must also be taken to minimise the likelihood of being bitten by mosquito's please ensure you bring adequate repellent, long sleeved light coloured clothing (avoid black and electric blue) for sunrise and sunset. Mosquito repellent machines can be bought cheaply in Delhi and have the suitable plug. Eat more vitamin B-containing foods oats, barley, wheat bran, avocado, salmon, Brazil nuts etc.
Prescription medication Please ensure that you bring an adequate supply of your prescription medication. Though medicine is available over the counter in India not all medication is available and is limited in small towns or villages.
Insurance Without adequate Insurance you will not be permitted to travel in one of our groups. When travelling anywhere outside of your country it is necessary to insure yourself for every eventuality this insurance needs to include emergency evacuation cover and have a 24 hour emergency contact telephone number. If this is part of your credit card you must check the requirements many require you to pay for the trip with the credit card.
Health Facilities India is become a progressive country in cities and towns there are world class health facilities. However in villages the health care is not quite so advanced with adequate health insurance you will ensure that you are getting the best assistance possible.
Staying well in India There are four simple golden rules to live by while travelling in India. · Don’t eat anything that hasn’t been cooked, peeled · Don’t take ice in drinks · Drink plenty of water. · Try to wash your hands as often as possible. |
